Free dance workshop with Jean Abreu Dance

Tuesday 14 September 6.30pm - 8.00pm Event Space, MK Gallery

Join Jean Abreu Dance for an open contemporary dance workshop as part of their residency at MK Gallery.

Brazilian-British choreographer Jean Abreu will deliver a workshop exploring the physical language of mourning, grief and laments, inspired by Abreu’s ongoing collaboration As They Are with dance dramaturg Guy Cools.

Offering an open space, this workshop will offer opportunities to experiment with voice, text/spoken word and polyphonic music traditions in order to create a physical movement language that expresses openness, empathy and support. Jean will draw on a variety of references from music, visual art and writing.

This workshop is suitable for people of all levels of dance/ movement, from beginners to professional dancers, movement/somatics practitioners, singers and vocal artists who are interested in working with movement.
